Powassan Maple Syrup Festival

Events and attractions that will be back at the Festival will include sheep shearing, Scottish heavy events, horse-drawn wagon rides, sugar bush tours, a full-day of musical entertainment, the West Coast Lumberjack Show, craft and food vendors on Main Street. Festival includes cooking with Maple Syrup demonstrations as well as some events specifically for children.

Extra Mile Launch at Hampton Inn by Hilton on May 1, 2014 at 11:00 am. The Extra Mile Program is aimed to reward business owners, employees and volunteers for excellence in customer service.
This recognition acknowledges the performance and contributions in making North Bay a better place to live and encourages visitors to return to our city.

Job Fair next week!

Job Fair Flyer 2014With only one week remaining until our 4th Annual Job Fair, there are limited booths available for employers!  The cost for a booth is only $125.00 + HST, and includes an 8′ x 8′ booth, table, and lunch!  With over 500 people attending last year’s job fair, and more expected this year, this is the perfect opportunity to attract potential employees.  This year, we teamed up with The Labour Market Group to host a Get Job Ready to assist individuals get ready for the workforce and ready for the job fair.  Where better to find qualified and prepared individuals to hire?  This Job Fair is not geared just to students, just to professionals, just to trades, but is open to all and will be attracting individuals from all a … Read More »

Danielle BrooksCongratulations to Danielle Brooks, Young Professional of the Month for April!

Danielle completed her undergraduate studies at Carleton University in Ottawa where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law.  

Danielle attended law school at Queen’s University in Kingston where she obtained a Juris Doctor Degree and was the recipient of the David Sabbath Prize in Property Law and the Reuben Wells Leonard Prize in Wills and Estate Planning.

Chamber Golf Tournament

2014GolfNBCNEXT MONTH, the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Annual Chamber Golf Tournament.  However, there will no longer be two golf tournaments, including Blackfly & a July tourney.  Instead, there will only be one Annual Golf Tournament being held on Tuesday, May 27th, 2014.  This will be a full 18 hole tournament, including lunch, dinner and prizes.  It is no longer necessary to attend two golf tournaments to qualify for prizes!   The tournament will be a four person scramble, best ball, no golf talent or experience required; just come network & have fun!  $125 per person includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, dinner, $5,000 hole in one, and prizes!  If you do not have a team of 4, no worries; let us know you’re interested in participating and we’ll include you on a team!   Read More »
